Social Media Posts
Objective: Get warm leads that engage with my content
Audience: 25 - 40 Year old male
Insight: Art from games that are older + an artstyle that is older increases likelihood of hitting the demographic + posting during trends
Creative strategy: Hook: Relevant text that celebrates media, asks a question or jumps on a trend.
Copy: The copy for my account always positioned my brand as a super fan and someone you can trust for related commissions in a specific niche. I create a series of “retro pretend movie posters” of games from the Sonic franchise.
Result: 3M+ organic views / 75K+ engagements / $50,000 in sales via DM’s from engaged viewers
Landing Page
Landing Page that converted cold lead to client: www.dredge.live/abd
THE PROBLEM
I wanted to increase the likelihood of landing a new client
THE INSIGHT
I know that influencers are looking to make additional streams of revenue without needing to change anything about their content upload schedule.
THE STRATEGY
I positioned my services as something that can be done without them having to do any extra work, because I was able to do so for another YouTuber.
THE COPY
Headline: curiosity based hook that promises a clear outcome
Subheadline: Clarifies the promise (adds context to the headline)
Hero: Create a mental connection between the client and myself by having us next to each other.
Problem → Explained creators want to make additional money, sometimes making more content isn’t the fastest way.
Benefits → How my partnership with Morj benefitted them
Proof → Showed screenshots of the sales dashboard
Objections → Explained the risks involved by explaining what I did to avoid those usual risks. This framed the pitch as unbiased while only discussing the benefits.
CTA → Book a call with me
THE RESULT
Conversion data unavailable; however, I did “land” the client from this landing page.
EMAIL MARKETING
EXAMPLE 1:
This was a collaboration with a brand called GOMU. This was a simple email which showed the products and added a pre-order CTA
Urgency was added with the 2 week window as well scarcity with a sold out promise.
We know that watchers of the YouTube channel are interested in One Piece, the hook, the retention and the reward are gained by merely looking at the merch products, therefore simplicity was the answer here.
Example 2:
To simultaneously inform warm leads on a new product One Dream Studio was making whilst also getting fan feedback on a creative decision a vote email was sent out.
This instantly gave awareness to customers whilst also rewarding them for being subscribed, it also built trust because the copy in this email explained the exclusivity of the email being sent.
Since this was a 1 email to vote sequence there were no follow ups, and the information gained from this was sent to the One Dream Studio team to finish up the design.
PAID ADS
Here is a campaign we ran
AD A
Headline: BUY 2 GET 3 FREE
CTA: ONE PIECE LEGENDS POSTER
Creative:
AD B
Headline: BUY 2 GET 3 FREE
CTA: ONE PIECE LEGENDS POSTER
Creative:
This version increase number of clicks compared to previous version, but did not increase sales velocity.
AD B
Headline: SUMMER SALE!
CTA: BUY 2 POSTERS GET 3 FREE
Creative:
This final iteration was selected because the Summer Sale gave a reason for the customers to buy now.
It also made what was previously the headline the CTA.
We also showed all the poster types available for customers to get.
Our click through rates improved however our sales did not, this meant that the was then an issue with the offer which needed to be reconfigured.
Lessons from Ad Campaign:
If I could go back I would include price point in the ad, as bounce rates after a lead would land on the offer page was high. Having the price would help qualify leads who click on the ad.
To add urgency add: ENDS JULY 31ST
To add scarcity add: Only 10 more bundles left (or an agreed upon scarcity angle with the team)
Run different A/B testing on the ads.
For A/B testing I’m looking to answer one of the questions: What is this? Is this relevant? Do I care?
If those questions aren't affected by my change, then the test is meaningless.
Based on this I would have tested “lifestyle” images of the posters in hands of someone or on the wall so that the word “poster” was not needed and see if that increase CTR, time on site, add to cart rates and purchase rates.
WRITING VOICE FOR ADS ON VIDEO
Brief: Sell national park parody posters based on the 1930’s style
Audience: Fans and theorists about the popular show One Piece
You can watch the ad in action here: One Piece National Park Ad
The Youtuber I wrote this script for likes to be theatrical and has a background in performing arts, so I played into that by giving him a script which lent itself to being spoken with a trans-Atlantic accent.
The ad had a disrupter opening, a curiosity based open, a rapid fire showing of the product in a way that feels contextually natural from the video subject matter.
The deal is quickly shown and then the CTA is given in a quick 30 second ad.
